Anna Piaggi, the last of the great fashion mavericks, is making space in what has got to be one of the world's biggest and most desirable wardrobes (which apparently, is more of a warehouse!!). 37 pieces - including designs by Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, (vintage) Lanvin, Paul Poiret and Ossie Clark - all of which were displayed at the V&A's Fashion-ology show in 2006, will be going under the hammer at Christies, South Kensington Fashion Through the Ages sale on December 3. "Vorrei che, dopo essere stati parte della mia vita, communicassero ad altri il loro significato, magari all' interno di un museo" she is quoted saying in November's Italian Vogue.
I'd be happier if they were bought by someone who could wear them with as much love as Ms. Piaggi did.
